The Sierra County Tourism Website includes links and information about hiking, daytrips, and water sports activities in Sierra County (including Elephant Butte Lake and Rio Grande River).

The Day Trips in Sierra County, New Mexico handbook, an extremely informative guide, is available on the Tourism site. It describes the history of our area and attractions that can easily be driven to - from hotsprings to ghost towns ... and from water sports to bird watching. There are even state parks and museums listed for good measure.

The Tourism website includes a map of the Historic Hot Springs Distric Map of downtown Truth or Consequences.

The Truth or Consequences Visitor's Center and Geronimo Springs Museum are on Main Street, right as you enter downtown from the north. They have a wealth of information and educational exhibits about Truth or Consequences and Sierra County.

To get "on the river" for a leisurely float, talk to Captain Bob about an inflatable kayak rental at www.whitewaterweekends.com. Depending on the river and the weather, they operate between March and October, from 7am to 7pm every day. Don't forget your sunscreen for this Rio Grande adventure!
